Doesn't Seem to be a Shadow in the City

We have switched cars and vans so often that it almost seems like a military maneuver ...and so we began the day at the church loading up for the drive into Columbus and St. John's UCC.

The nearby Starbucks continues to draw some of us away.
(Amber, Jana, Nils and Bob)

Nils practices on the organ at Dublin Community Church...in preparation for playing at our worship service on July 10.

Trevor is so inspired that he grabs a Bible to meditate while Nils practices.

And so we began the preparation for the Largest Table Meal at St. John's UCC.

Jana, Simon & Sarah prepare the table and cutlery.

Frederieke & Emma prepare to meet the guests for the meal.

Jana, Chad & Maika serve the luncheon crowd of 150

  Lo serves up a meal.

Lisa, Amber & Nils have kitchen duty.

  Maike serves a client.

                                                              Frederieke & Lena

Our group also gets to eat when all the clients have eaten.

Kyle, Eli & Simon appear to have things under control.

Meal over!

Andreas and Sarah discuss the upcoming German soccer game.

Eli and Michael are not even aware that Germany is playing France tomorrow.

Pastor Rachel Gardner from St. John's UCC talks to our group about the ministries of the church.

Simon, Megan, Kerstin & Gracie listen to Pastor Rachel

St. John's UCC

The day in Columbus ended as it began....with a car trip ....this time to Canal Winchester to stay at Lo Jackson's house. Typically, Frederieke and Lena find the most comfortable chair in the house....for a needed rest.

(I will perhaps post some photos from the group at Lo's house later.)

Peace,  Bob

  1. Thanks for your daily update. I appreciate it a lot. - But could you ask some Germans for a short translation? Not everybody here is able to read English and would be very happy to have a little summery of each day.
